1000 MILE SCENIC DRIVING TOUR ACROSS TEXAS
2010 Lone Star Loop 1000 WELCOME to the “3ND ANNUAL LONE STAR LOOP 1000”. The 2010 tour is titled the “EL CAMINO REAL DE LOS TEJAS TOUR” in that it is a winding route that follows parts of the early Spanish routes of the “Royal Highway” and “Old San Antonio Road” through early outposts and missions in our fair state of Texas. “1000 miles ain’t far in Texas!” Once again we have taken great pains to plan the route along many of the old, established state and federal highways. Come along with us and behold the many facets and majestic grandeur of the great “Lone Star State”. The 2010 LONE STAR LOOP 1000 is a planned 4-day, 1000 total miles, non-competitive, drive-at-your-own-pace, scenic tour route of the best of Texas. All Antique and Classic Vehicle Makes, Vintage Hot Rods, and Vintage “Muscle Cars” are welcome. The Start and Finish for the 2010 route is Weatherford, Texas and includes the following:
The 4-day tour route is carefully planned and mapped for your convenience and driving pleasure. The restaurants at towns designated as lunch stops and motels at evening stops are centralized this year but the individual participants are responsible to secure reservations. The tour booklet includes lists of and links to restaurants and lodging facilities of the town where the stop is made. It is advisable that all lodging reservations along the tour route be made early to ensure availability since reserved rooms at host inns are made in a block but are limited. Registration includes a Tour Packet which consists of: (1) 2010 LSL 1000 Tour Booklet, (1) 2010 LSL 1000 T-shirt, (1) 2010 LSL 1000 Dash Plaque, (1) 2010 LSL 1000 Static-cling Window Sticker, and a Goody Bag replete with lots of treats from our sponsors. Other 2010 LSL 1000 souvenir items and clothing are available to commemorate your tour and may be purchased either online or at on-site registration but pre-ordering for Dickies Shirts is mandatory and specific size is advisable (See “LOOP GEAR”).
